Walking Bus, Italian Style

From the province of Lecco comes news of the Piedibus project, the organisation of safe pedestrian pathways from home  to school, in order to promote the increase of physical activity among children. So far, 12 Piedibus lines are running daily in Lecco, with more than 500 pupils and 90 accompanying volunteers. Feedback to date is very positive, with 87.4% of students involved saying they prefer to go to school by the Piedibus than by any other means.
