Record Breaking Walking Bus

Brake, the road safety charity, organised the world’s largest simultaneous Walking Bus on Wednesday 16 June 2004. Around 18,000 children are believed to have taken part from schools across the UK. At exactly 10am the children formed Walking Buses and made their way around their school neighbourhood. This introduced the concept of the Walking Bus to many. The event also aimed to encourage drivers to slow down near schools.
