Promoting Walk To School Schemes and
High Visibility Clothing for Children

Geddington C of E Primary School,
Geddington, Northamptonshire

Geddington C of E Primary School in Geddington, near Kettering, Northants has around 160 pupils.  Many of them use one of the two Walking Buses to get to school every day and there are 14 children who help as Junior Conductors, a scheme the school pioneered.  Many villagers commented on the effectiveness of the high visibility clothing worn by participants and local businesses and  organisations provided the funds to purchase high visibility clothing for each child in the school. Children from the school then helped develop more stylish designs which are now sold under the BrightKidz brand.

Safe Kids Walking was founded as a result of the school’s Walking Bus scheme by the co-ordinator. The school continues to working in partnership with Safe-Kids-Walking to help promote Walking Bus schemes and high visibility clothing for children.
